Installation Versatility - No Chimney Required
Save construction costs and allow more living space
with an Intrepid TRDV direct vent boiler. A chimney
is not required, so it can be installed in a remote
space and vented directly through a wall. It’s
ideal for any application where a chimney may not be
practical or where an old chimney has deteriorated.

The Intrepid boiler’s cast-iron design is recognized
by heating professionals everywhere as the longest
lasting, most durable heat exchanger material. The
cast-iron heat exchanger is assembled with durable
metal push nipples. Specially shaped thermal pins promote
efficient heat transfer. For reliability, every burner
is fully combustion tested and fine tuned in the factory
for optimal performance. Final adjustments are made
by the installer, based on the conditions of each individual
house. Intrepid water boilers are so reliable, they
are backed by a lifetime limited warranty
Direct venting makes your home more comfortable
Your home will be more comfortable with an Intrepid
TRDV boiler because it does not use household air for
combustion. It draws combustion air directly from the
outdoors and expels exhaust directly to the outdoors
through flexible exhaust tubing. An ordinary boiler
consumes warm household air for combustion. That causes
chilly infiltration drafts, disrupting the comfort
of your living area. Direct venting also reduces the
risk of oily odors entering the living area.
Robust design ensures superb performance
The Intrepid boiler’s cast-iron design is recognized
by heating professionals everywhere as the longest
lasting, most durable heat exchanger material. The
contoured shape of Intrepid’s heat exchanger
supports stable combustion, protecting against the
adverse effects of changing operating conditions. The
Intrepid TRDV boiler is virtually unaffected by cold
air and cold oil, which can cause poor combustion and
soot buildup in many oil boilers. Unlike most oil boilers,
Intrepid’s push nipples are located to the side,
out of the way of the flue gasses. This creates more
uniform heat transfer, minimizes draft loss and reduces
soot build-up. For reliability, every burner is fully
combustion tested and fine tuned in the factory for
optimal performance. Final adjustments are made by
the installer, based on the unique conditions of each
individual house. Silicone sealant or silicone coated
rope seal all flue passage joints. Intrepid TRDV boilers
are so reliable, they are backed by a lifetime limited
warranty.
Easy to install and maintain for like-new performance
The Intrepid boiler is “service friendly”.
Virtually 100% of heat exchanger surfaces are flue
brush accessible to maintain the high heat transfer
characteristics of the boiler’s cast-iron thermal
pins. The easy-off flue collector can be quickly and
repeatedly removed and put back into place with a silicone
coated rope seal. The burner door swings open for routine
servicing. It also lifts off, making it easy to move
the boiler to its installation location. The TRDV concentric
vent terminal requires just one wall opening.
Optional high output tankless heater coil
This “instant” hot water maker serves
the needs of your kitchen, bath and laundry. Intrepid’s
extended coil well accommodates a larger coil to maximize
output. Cover plate is visible for easy inspection.
Stainless steel cap nuts facilitate routine maintenance.
